SME Fund – Tomasz Szambelan accredited IP Scan provider

20 May 2024 | Knowledge, News, The Right Focus

Tomasz Szambelan has been included in the list of accredited IP Scan providers maintained by the Polish Patent Office. The IP Scan service is part of the grant scheme for the filing of trade marks, designs and inventions from the European SME Fund.

IP Scan – the ideal tool for entrepreneurs

IP Scan is a pre-diagnostics of intellectual property and is part of the SME Fund programme, created to help micro, small and medium-sized enterprises gain access to IP protection. The support is granted by the EUIPO, the European Union Intellectual Property Office, and has been available to Polish SMEs since the beginning of April.

IP Scan enables an assessment of how the current IP potential in a company is being used and how it can be protected and improved.

As part of the service, the IP Scan provider prepares a report on the protection of trade marks, designs and patents and business secrets, with the surveyed company also receiving recommendations on possible registrations and use of its rights.

Reimbursement of up to 90% of the cost of the service

Those wishing to benefit from the support should apply to the EUIPO for an IP Scan voucher as soon as possible. Entities in the SME sector are reimbursed 90% of the costs, to a maximum of EUR 630.

It should also be kept in mind that the IP Scan service can only be provided by a provider accredited by the Polish Patent Office, who meets the requirements set out by the EU Intellectual Property Office. This small group of several dozen experts has recently been joined by Tomasz Szambelan.
